Weight Loss Monitoring

During your 8 week program we will use two different types of testing to monitor your progress, one you use at home on a daily basis and the other we do in clinic at every appointment to help keep you on track.

Ketostix are an easy to use test that you can perform twice a day to monitor your fat burning. Simply pass the test strips through your stream of urine and the results are instantaneous. You should always aim for trace ketosis only, so the first one or two colours outside of a neutral reading are ideal for slow and sustainable fat burning. Ideally you should perform the test before breakfast (which gives you information about dinner the night before and again before dinner (which tells you how well your body responded to breakfast and lunch).  This is a fast, simple and accurate way to test if you are in fat burning. Remember to aim for trace ketosis, if your results are stronger than the first one or two readings then eat half an apple or a handful of strawberries and test again.

Bioimpedance Analysis

Bioimpedance analysis uses revolutionary new technology which allows us to quickly gain a precise and measurable overview of your muscle mass, fat mass, intracellular and extracellular fluid levels and a range of other biomarkers that asses your  health at a cellular level. Using this technology we are able to accurately pinpoint areas that need support and individualised treatment in order to get the best results during your program. Most importantly bioimpedance analysis allows us to accurately track your fat loss during the program and ensure that the weight you are losing is fat, not muscle. By protecting your muscle mass while losing excess body fat you are able to achieve a healthy body composition and encourage healthy metabolic function. You will receive a printed report each week of the program which allows you to track your progress and keep motivated.

A Bioimpedance Analysis will determine:

• Cellular health and function

• Cellular toxicity

• Fat mass

• Active tissue mass (muscle mass)

• Intra and extracellular fluid levels

• Your biological age vs chronological age (how well your body is aging)
