Nutrition Program Preparation

The first step to success is preparation. You’ll get the best results if you plan your nutrition program.

Understand the Basics

Read through the Basics section of the program first. This gives you some valuable background information on why healthy nutrition is so important and how it helps the body to work more efficiently.

Prepare your kitchen

Out with the old and in with the new! It is much easier to stick to your nutrition program if you come home to fridge full of fresh produce and a pantry laden with healthy choices. Taking a day or two to plan the type of meals you are going to enjoy during your nutrition program and stocking up on healthy foods will make for an easier transition, especially in the first few days when you are adapting to changes to your diet.

Prepare your home

Look at the chemicals you use around your home and in your personal care products, is there a way you could minimise your exposure to toxins? If so now is the time to experiment with less toxic alternatives.

Prepare your social calendar

Changing your nutrition to requires some planning and sometimes social commitments can disrupt your progress.  If you do happen to have an ‘unmissable’ social event during the course of your program you can either plan ahead and avoid the foods and drinks that may set you back, or in the case of emergency special events such as anniversaries or birthday, have one night off your program and then back to business the next day. After all, there is never a perfect time to make major changes to your diet and sometimes we have to compromise.

Recruit some support

Having the support of your friends and family can make a big difference. There’s no greater sabotage than a friend offering you a glass of wine on a Friday night after a hard week at work, or someone popping over for a cup of tea with some chocolate biscuits. Tell your friends and family what you are doing and why, most people will support your choices to have a healthy diet and lifestyle.
